The various sockets have one authoritative site, however when it
comes to the "Applications" (Cello, Hgopher,Bcgopher, Mosaic, Winqvt,
and any other's I have missed) they are kind of "spread across
cyber space" the best thing to do is watch here, and you can see
postings on where to get them (of course they don't always tell you
what they do, and sometimes it isn't obvious)

I think you might find it a tad slow, if you are running multiple
sessions, but that's just me and my 486 bias.
The best "socket" in my opinion is often referred to as Trumpet
Winsock Alpha 17. It was incredibly easy to install, and if you
are on a modem connection somewhere, there is a seperate dialer program
that works pretty well.

The only problem I've found that the Telnet Client in Winqvt doesn't
utilize the full screen (it skips the bottom three) when you
maximize the Telnet Window.
